I booked my girls and I onto a walk with Dartmoor Partner, unsure what to expect. We’re not walkers or hikers and I’m not confident walking on Dartmoor so it isn’t something we usually do. Booking through DP, gave me the confidence to try something new and half term was the perfect time to do it. The communication before the event itself was spot on with information on what to bring and where to park which was very reassuring.
Today was refreshingly wholesome. My girls loved the streams, rocks and playing with the other children. I loved the chats with other parents and views. Jack and Isla are so knowledgeable about routes and had several spots to stop at to admire and things along the way. They were so hands on checking everyone was enjoying the walk and brought an activity for the kids, drinks and a biscuit. I loved that they brought their own kids along - it felt so family friendly. The badges at the end were a great touch for the kids too - spot on.
My 5 year old rated it as the best walk she’s ever done! And in fact, so do I! Thanks again Dartmoor Partner. Onwards and upwards!
Brilliant way to organise a nice little trip for the whole family!
We really enjoyed our trek out for the family event! Jack and Isla were knowledgeable of the area, sharing facts and showing us really interesting things along the route. They adapted their language to suit all of the children, and children had lots of opportunities to ask questions and share their thoughts. It was well planned out and any changes to the terrain were explained so everyone was safe and continued to enjoy themselves throughout the trek. We can't wait for the next one!
Recently got involved with Dartmoor Partner after coming down from Bristol looking for something to get involved in. Dartmoor Partner were doing a guided walk with a couple of other families last weekend and it was absolutely brilliant. I don't think my two girls have ever had so much fun outside. They didn't stop running around! This was by far the best family walk we've ever done. Can't wait to come back to Devon and join them again. Thanks guys!
Great day out! Always want to get up on the moor, but it’s not always easy with a 4 year old. This was a perfect activity for us to do together during half term, adventurous enough but too challenging to be daunting. Really well run and fun activities that went down well. We both loved it and will be back.
We had a great day out in the moor with Isla and Jack guiding us along a route that opened my daughters eyes to the wonders of nature, Jack was kind and knowledgeable pointing out lots of wildlife, my daughter is now obsessed with moss! We had a great day and really enjoyed connecting with nature, the kids all helped each other and motivated each other to keep going even when their little legs were clearly exhausted!
Great day and would certainly do another similar guided walk
Thank U so much for the lovely day, it's been refreshing and educational as well as adventurous. Exactly what we needed
Autumn Quest - an opportunity to get out and do a “proper” walk with my children. Not something I get to do often when solo parenting a 3 & 2 year old but the route, activities and hot chocolate were wonderful. But the knowledge of Isla & Jack and the support of the whole group was what made this an incredible morning out and allowed us to achieve something wonderful. Thank you, all!
