About:

Cafe on the Green

Café on the Green sits in the heart of Widecombe in the Moor, one of Dartmoor’s most familiar and well loved villages, with old stone buildings, open views and that proper moorland village feeling all around it.It is a lovely stop for families exploring Widecombe, Bonehill Rocks, Hound Tor, Haytor, Saddle Tor or the quieter lanes and footpaths around the village.

Whether the day has been full of clambering, gentle walking or simply pottering around the church and green, it gives everyone a clear place to pause and settle for a while.

With coffee, cakes, lunches and cream tea appeal, it works well for slower family days where the walk is only one part of the plan. Widecombe has plenty for children to notice, from ponies nearby to the changing views across the valley, and a café stop here fits naturally into that unhurried rhythm.

A strong central Dartmoor stop for coffee, lunch, cream teas and classic village charm.
